Late last year when we reported that Buckhead Atlanta was finally open and would soon be home to some very glamorous designers, we had no idea of the big names that would call the shopping center home. Since then, Alice and Olivia, Christian Louboutin and La Perla have opened their doors, with names like Dior, Jimmy Choo and Tod’s coming later this year. But Tom Ford, the latest brand to “announce” their opening, hasn’t even confirmed there will be a store yet.
Notorious for being super secretive—he once staged a fashion show that banned press, photographers and social media—Ford has yet to confirm or deny that a boutique will open in the new shopping center. Cliff Fleiser, North America PR Director for Tom Ford, responded to inquiries from multiple media outlets, stating simply, “We have no further details to provide at this time.” Of course, with an entire storefront covered in floor-to-ceiling branding, it’s a bit of a moot point. Most consider the logo-emblazoned windows that went up last month next to the Dior store, an unofficial announcement.
While the store is not likely to open for a few months, speculation has already begun about which products will be available. Holding one of the two primary locations in Buckhead Atlanta, many hope it will be a flagship store offering men’s and women’s apparel as well as handbags, leather goods, beauty, jewelry, eyewear, footwear and accessories.
