Aug 22, 2014 | Contributor: Donald Herrera-Fairbairn One hundred years ago, Ernest Shackleton and his crew of 27 attempted to cross Antarctica on foot from Weddell Sea to Ross Sea by way of crossing the South Pole. Though the now-famous expedition faced perilous odds and disastrous setbacks, Shackleton and his entire crew were saved in 1916. In commemoration of his tremendous leadership and the unrelenting determination of his crew, a Journey to Antarctica: The White Continent adventure is being offered through National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions. ... Jul 25, 2014 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich With a career that's lasted over 40 years, everyone knows Annie Leibovitz by now. The iconic artist was the chief photographer for Rolling Stone, the first contributing photographer for Vanity Fair after its revival, and has been behind some of the most famous advertising campaigns. Many may try and copy her, but her portraiture style is instantly recognizable as something inherently her own. With so much work in her catalog, it must have been quite the feat to collect her photos in a SUMO-sized book for Taschen, but she did it and the art world rejoices. [Warning: One of the following pictures is NSFW] ... Read More |

May 12, 2014 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich Head over to eBay to bid on some pretty cool instant cameras that were used by over 150 celebrities, including our favorite (incredibly talented) nice guy Joseph Gordon Levitt. Put on by the nonprofit media arts organization MIX NYC, the disposable 35mm cameras are full of personal shots and selfies by whichever celebrity carried it around with them. Not only will you be the first person to actually see the photos, since they're not even developed yet, the cameras will also be signed by the celeb and the proceeds will be directly benefitting the foundation and its signature event, the New York Queer Experimental Film Festival. ... Apr 28, 2014 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich There are many different types of artists out there, from photographers and painters to sculptors and filmmakers, and some artists are talented enough that they excel at more than one medium. It's pretty darn amazing though when someone has so much creativity spilling from their minds that they do all of it, and that's exactly what Adrien Broom does. ... Read More |
Apr 9, 2014 | Contributor: Donald Herrera-Fairbairn Using featured Southern California artists from the 2014 Festival of Arts Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach as his subjects, photographer Charley Akers is bringing his photography exhibit to The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel from May 8 to August 30. Akers has been described as having an uncanny "ability to disarm the subject and catch a singular moment of who the artist is at their core." ... Read More |
Feb 18, 2014 | Contributor: Erin Fitzpatrick John Neyrot’s career is the envy of guys everywhere: Not only does he photograph girls in bikinis for a living, but his job also entails painting girls’ naked bodies — a few times at the Playboy Mansion, no less. Oh, and jetting off to exotic locales is also part of the job description. As much as his life seems perfect, especially among you Sports Illustrated Swimsuit fans out there, he promises that his path wasn’t always as exciting. ... Read More |
Jan 16, 2014 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich If there's one thing people love nowadays, it's instant gratification, especially when it comes to film. Polaroid has been the leading brand in shoot and print cameras for years and while it may be tough to track down film for your old models, they're continually striving to bring newer and more technologically savvy models to their fans. ... Dec 13, 2013 | Contributor: Marissa Stempien | 1 Comment At 10 o’clock at night in Spain, photographer Cristian Borillo, half of the creative duo Hunter & Gatti, sat down to talk with JustLuxe about their work in the fashion industry. For a man that’s had such a long and successful career he’s surprisingly modest, and more passionate about photography as an art form than the list of famous clientele he’s shot, or the designer labels he’s worked with. ... Nov 22, 2013 | Contributor: Vicki Arkoff Few people exemplify the American spirit with more heart and conviction than Bruce Springsteen. The iconic singer, songwriter, and spokesperson for the common man is bigger than life, yet remains an intensely private man. But award-winning photographer Debra Rothenberg is one of the lucky few who have had a close-up view of Springsteen for nearly four decades, and she’s collected the best of her deep portfolio for Bruce Springsteen in Focus 1980-2012. ... Oct 23, 2013 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich | 1 Comment There are few jobs out there that I would nearly kill for, but Mark Halpern's is one of them. As the CEO of Rock Paper Photo, Mark spends his days hunting for rare and unseen photos of all your favorite iconic rock stars, actors, and authors. Nowadays with the internet, you can see hundreds of photos of whoever you want, but Google isn't going to get inside that shoe box filled with negatives under a photographer's bed — Mark and his team will, and that's where it gets interesting. ... Oct 21, 2013 | Contributor: Mila Pantovich | 2 Comments When you take a look at the cover photo for Campari's official 2014 Calendar, you're not going to believe Uma Thurman is 43-years-old. The talented actress has been relatively quiet lately, but with the rumored third Kill Bill and the upcoming Lars von Trier film, Nymphomaniac (you know, the one with the sexually charged posters), Campari knows that their leading lady is going to jump right back on everyone's mind very soon. ...
