May 21, 2013 | Contributor: Victor and Mary Recently, Victor and I have found ourselves overjoyed by the elevating trend of hotels relinquishing dining duties, opting instead for third party restaurants to take the reins. Nothing against the factions of corporately run hotel eateries (after all consistency is often undervalued), but in Los Angeles, hotel restaurants are increasingly drawing in non-guests as well as guests looking to experience a unique gourmet escape. Caulfield’s Bar and Dining Room happens to be one of these places.... Read More |
Mar 7, 2013 | Contributor: Beck Bamberger | 1 Comment Beverly Hills, the epicenter of glamour and luxury on the west coast, is home to Montage Beverly Hills—a hotel exemplifying the same opulence and attention to detail that the city is known for. Its location—filled with frequent Hollywood high-society sightings, and just two blocks from Rodeo Drive’s chic shops—helps create an undeniable allure. As one of three Montage Hotels and Resorts properties, the Montage Beverly Hills is a distinct haven of "comfortable luxury." Here are a few of my favorite finds during a recent stay:... Read More |
Feb 5, 2013 | Contributor: Annalisa Solari Funny man Jason Bateman is known for his snarky humor and his clever roles, but we can’t imagine he has many quips about the luxury home he just purchased with his wife, Amanda Anka. Previously owned by the late Academy Award-Winning actor Ernest Borgnine, this $3 million residence boasts over 6,000 square feet, a sweeping staircase, and a guest house. Dayag’s first culinary experience began when he traveled to the Philippines as an adolescent to visit his grandparents on their farm. There, he became inspired by their back-country lifestyle and quickly learned the basics of planting rice, growing and picking seasonal vegetables, even butchering poultry. “I’m happy to be given this opportunity,” says Dayag. “This position gives me the perfect setting to bring new influences to this beautiful restaurant. If I had to describe my food, I would say it’s American with Asian influences. My passion is to create classic dishes that embrace modern cooking methods, while staying true to time-honored techniques. I enjoy creating menus that giv... Read More |

Jul 6, 2012 | Contributor: Beck Bamberger If zip codes had a persona, Beverly Hills would look like a captivating and poised head-turning "It" girl—with sunglasses. The 92101 area is one of my favorites for luxurious let-loose fun, and on a recent jaunt, I visited some of the properties that have made this town a legend, such as The Pretty Pink Princess: The Beverly Hills Hotel, celebrating its 100th year in operation....
