Castagnola Heritage 9.9 Italian Chase Boat Fuses Wood and Carbon Fiber
- Italian shipyard built Castagnola Yacht built the Heritage 9.9 chase boat using its patented Wood in Tech Skin (WTS) technique, which bonds wood with carbon fiber.
- Among other benefits, WTS gives the hull incredible strength and rigidity while maintaining the look of a classic wooden hull.
- Nauta Yachts designed the Heritage 9.9 for the third-generation owner of the Castagnola shipyard—Gabriele Maestri, who developed and patented WTS—to serve as a transport vessel that follows (or chases) a larger yacht. The boat can also serve as a short-range weekend cruiser.
- With a deep V-shaped hull that enables the boat to plane and dual 320 hp Yanmar engines, the Heritage 9.9 has a top speed of 40 knots and a range of 170 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 30 knots.
