The 2014 Amber Lounge Charity Auction is coming up fast on May 23 and with their star item being a one-of-a-kind Dominator 640 luxury yacht, we are paying attention. Created in 2006 under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the charity event raises millions for various organizations, like the Special Olympics and the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, and they're hoping the Dominator will bring in well over the starting bid of €1,8 million (around $2.5 million). After drooling over these photos and checking out all it has to offer, we're pretty certain this yacht will exceed expectations.
At 65.6-feet long and 16.4-feet wide, the award-winning (two World Yacht Trophies for best layout and best interior design at the Cannes Boat Show in 2013) Dominator 640 is meant to represent the best Italy has to offer. Designed by Alberto Mancini, who comes from the world of cars, the vessel's extended windshield and sporty lines reflect that of a sports car. The large windows not only offer lots of light, but also work to draw you into the living spaces within.
An alfresco dining area is found at the stern and a two-person sun pad takes advantage of the bow, leaving around 150 square feet for the flybridge. Below deck you will find three cabins and a crew cabin — each with its own ensuite bathroom. The master suite takes up the width of the 16-foot beam and spans 225 square feet, making sure whoever ends up buying it will have more than enough private space.
In terms of tech, 360-degree thermal and night vision cameras help to navigate at night, and the information is readily available on any smartphone or tablet. The boat also has an AIS system that picks up on emitted signals, directions and speed from nearby motor and sailing yachts.
This year's auction will be benefiting people suffering from severe brain, spine and neurological disorders. Aside from the luxury yacht, there will also be rare pieces of art, jewelry and experience packages up for bid.
