The One-of-Seven Range Rover Sport 'Park City Edition' is an Ode to Luxury Alpine Living

Mar. 20th, 2024

Selling cars to high-net-worth individuals requires ever-increasing creativity, and luxury British brand Range Rover has raised the bar in bespoke automotive design once again with the release of its ultra-exclusive Park City Edition. Debuted at its recent Range Rover House pop-up in the famous western ski town and limited to just seven units, the special trim model showcases a plug-in electric hybrid powertrain with an impressive 53-mile electric-only range beautifully wrapped in a satin finish Ethereal Frost Silver exterior inspired by Park City's snow-capped mountains.

Adventure Driven, Alpine-Inspired

For over six decades, Range Rover has created a desire among drivers for something extraordinary while continuing to innovate and meet the demands of loyal customers seeking ever-more prestigious experiences with its vehicles. Highly sought after by enthusiasts, ultra-limited drops like the Park City Edition provide the ultimate allure of exclusivity and a subtle social cachet. And with all seven units already accounted for, they're popular too.

Riding on 23-inch Dark Grey SV bespoke wheels with carbon fiber inserts, the Narvik Black contrast roof also cuts a striking dash against the silver exterior, but special touches don't stop there. Treadplates etched with Park City Edition and the corresponding unit number add further distinction to the exclusive model Range Rover Sport PHEV. The cabin features Light Cloud and Ebony perforated semi-aniline leather seats with a matching two-tone suede headliner and SV Bespoke satin-forged carbon fiber trim finisher. Heading to the slopes has never looked chicer.

“Range Rover clients are passionate about the luxury alpine lifestyle, and we're thrilled to bring Range Rover House back to Park City, Utah,” says Range Rover US Brand Director Theresa Choh-Lee. “The limited-edition Park City Edition amplifies the legendary design, capability and sporting luxury of Range Rover with accessories ideally suited for cold weather adventures and provides unique appeal to the winter sports enthusiast.”

It's undoubtedly well-curated for adventure. The winter-ready SUV comes with two sets of custom-fit Hinterland Skis, Land Rover accessory cross bars and a roof ski carrier. After a long day on the slopes, post-skiing recovery is in the bag, too, thanks to a pair of portable Theragun massagers.

A Philanthropic Purchase

Priced at $169,000, plus destination fee, the benefits of adding this Park City Edition to any car collection are twofold: yes, it's a chance to own a piece of automotive history, but you'll also give back generously to a local area non-profit. Jaguar Land Rover will make a monetary donation from each vehicle sold to the Park City Community Foundation, an organization that helps contribute financial resources across various initiatives, from affordable housing and climate change to equity and inclusion.

Even compared to one-of-seven unit runs last year – the $225,000 Range Rover Sport SV EDITION ONE MIAMI created in collaboration with artist Daniel Wurtzel and $370,000 Range Rover SV Carmel Edition – it's still a tidy sum, but the philanthropic component underscores JLR's commitment to its Social Responsibility Program. Since its 2007 inception, the Community Foundation has generated over $57.8 million in total impact for the greater Park City community and Summit County.

The Range Rover House Experience

Widely recognized as one of the top luxury winter destinations in the world, Park City is an ideal location to showcase the Range Rover brand – last year's inaugural Range Rover House Park City marked a multi-year partnership between Range Rover as the Official Luxury Vehicle of Deer Valley Resort where Range Rover Experiences include bespoke concierge services, exclusive resort access and reserved on-site parking perks.

Located in the heart of downtown Park City, this year's Range Rover House was open for ten days (March 8 through March 17) and provided Range Rover owners and special guests a modish social space to become fully immersed in the brand aesthetic – a design suite to customize future Range Rover models, wellness programs including massage and IV therapy infusions, and a daily après ski with curated bites, cocktails and live music all featured. Celebrities from the world of sport and television also added some sparkle to the highly anticipated Sport Park City Edition reveal, with skiing pro Lindsey Vonn and British actor Peter Gadiot both in attendance.

Spending time with clients at global luxury destinations that support Range Rover's brand values and affluent owner lifestyles has become a tour de force for the British carmaker – the first Range Rover House took place during the 2022 Monterey Car Week in a modernist mansion overlooking Monterey Bay, while the Katara Presidential Suite at the landmark hotel Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris became an haute auto atelier during the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Skiing in Utah certainly draws adventure-loving high-spenders: think plenty of bluebird days, some of the best powder on earth, and unparalleled winters. A case in point: Deer Valley just extended its season for the second time ever in its more than 40 years of operation crediting above-average snowfall after a record-breaking February.

While she confirmed Range Rover House would be back for the 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August, US Brand Director Theresa Choh-Lee remained tight-lipped about which prestigious sporting events or cities the invitation-only concept might appear in next. However, Land Rover Senior PR Specialist Jeff Ehoodin teased that something “unexpected and more left-field for the Range Rover brand” would be happening stateside soon.

In the meantime, with waiting lists that keep getting longer, if you love Range Rover, love to ski, and have a soft spot for the Utah Mountains and luxury alpine living, the Park City Edition could have been the car for you.
