Digitalized display and control concept, innovative lighting setup, and hybrid powertrain, the latest facelift of the Porsche Cayenne guarantees more luxury and performance. Said to be the most extensive product upgrade in the history of Porsche by Michael Schätzle, Vice President, Product Line Cayenne, the 2023 Cayenne can be considered an overhaul of the third generation of Cayenne with extensive changes to the chassis, powertrain, equipment, design and performance to provide an elevated luxurious everyday comfort.
Considered a global bestseller of the automaker, the 2023 Porsche Cayenne takes on the new Porsche Driver Experience, first introduced in the Porsche Taycan. Apart from that, the vehicle also takes newer headlights and a larger grille. The rear styling of the Cayenne has three-dimensionally designed tail lights and a new extensive range of 20, 21, and 22-inch alloy wheels. The company has introduced three new colors and an option for lightweight sports packages, saving up to 33 kilograms for the Cayenne Coupé.
Inside the updated Porsche is a new fully digital 12.6-inch instrument cluster with an optimized head-up display and an additional infotainment screen for the front passenger. The multimedia setup is designed to provide a comprehensive range of controls and functions. Both Cayenne and Cayenne Coupé have the improved Porsche InnoDrive that helps drivers in traffic jams and dangerous situations.
At its mechanical heart, the Porsche Cayenne facelift offers three engine options; the three-litre V6 petrol engine with 343 bhp (an increase of 12.8 bhp from the previous version). The Cayenne Turbo GT features a four-litre V8 biturbo engine in the new Cayenne S, replacing the V6 engine with a 650 bhp. The top speed is 273 km/h. The E-Hybrid variant comes with the same three-litre engine with an additional plug-in hybrid system giving a total output of 463 bhp. Porsche has also added various performance-enriching features, like the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), six-positioned aluminum monobloc brake calipers and adaptive air suspension, to name a few.
With being pitted against rivals like Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Jaguar F-Pace, and Audi Q8, the 2023 Porsche Cayenne emphasises its claim to be the sportiest car in its segment.
