If you love a roomy comfortable SUV but don’t want the size of an Escalade or Navigator, the Lincoln Aviator might be the perfect fit. It’s a hybrid and more efficient than an extra-large SUV and it still can seat seven riders comfortably.
What’s New?
There are style options new for 2023, including a Jet package on Reserve and Black Label models. The chrome trim is replaced with black and the wheel surrounds and plastic cladding is replaced with body-colored tones. There’s also a new Illumination package including a lighted Lincoln logo in the grille, LED fog lamps, and adaptive pixel LED headlamps. In addition to white, black, green and brown smoke, Lincoln has added red and jewel sandstone colors.
Interior
The Lincoln offers 18 feet of storage space and options for six or seven seat configurations. We loved the Perfect Position seats with 30-way adjustability and massage capability that can focus on different areas of the back and cooling and heating functions. We also loved the 10-inch touchscreen configuration making it easy to navigate calls, music, GPS and more. The unique piano key-styled shifters make it easy to navigate parking, reversing and driving. There is also a Revel Ultima 3D audio system offering 28 speakers of surround sound. The only thing we thought was challenging was that the non-plug-in phone charger was located in the compartment between front row seats, so drivers are unable to wireless charge and view their phone at the same time. We loved that you can use your smartphone’s Bluetooth signal to unlock and start the car. The huge sunroof was also a great feature.
Safety
The Safety features were extensive, including adaptive cruise control, self-parking, forward-collision warning with automated emergency braking, lane centering assist and blind spot monitoring.
Outside
The big oversize grill features a blue Lincoln logo and honeycomb silver design housing the 360-degree camera. There’s also 21” wheels, a plugin option for charging and we loved the one-touch feature to open the trunk and flatten third-row seats for loads of trunk space.
The Aviator has one of the most powerful standard engines for a mid-size luxury SUV, with a 400 hp twin turbo V-6. There is also a plug-in hybrid Grand Touring model with a 100-hp electric motor and 13.6 – kWh battery.
The Lincoln Aviator Black Label Grand Touring Hybrid base price starts at $88,230.
I took the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring Hybrid from LA to Las Vegas for a stay at the Conrad at Resorts World and it was quiet, exceptionally comfortable and a lovely ride.
