The 2022 Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum is big on both size and luxury. Powered by a 420 hp V8 engine, this luxury SUV is quick to gain speed while providing tons of technology. We found it the perfect SUV for a trip up to California wine country.
What’s New?
Cadillac offers standard automatic park assist, active lane control, parking sensors, surround-view camera system and front and rear automated emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. The new Touring package includes soft-close doors, air suspension and illuminated door sill protector, as well as the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving feature.
Interior
We were in the lap of luxury inside this massive gorgeous vehicle. Surrounded by Palermo quilted leather, pretty wood on the dash and sides and metal accents, driver and passengers can easily navigate the huge infotainment 16.9-inch screen, 14. 2-inch digital driver display and 7.2-inch control panel. We were able to store beverages in the handy and roomy fridge located between the driver and front passenger seats. We also loved the heated steering wheel and heated, ventilated and power-adjustable front seats. Our favorite feature was the multiple massage settings providing comfort during our entire trip. Other interior features include 26 option ambient lighting, tri-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth connection and easy wireless charging, Apple carplay, an UltraView sunroof for panoramic views, five available USB ports and a 36 speaker audio sound system.
With a maximum 121 cubic feet of cargo space, this SUV had plenty of room for all of our luggage and all of the wine we purchased throughout the trip. The 2022 Escalade Sport Platinum can comfortably seat 8 with a roomy third row of seating.
Outside, the Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum is also breathtaking with it’s majestic grille, 22 inch chrome alloy wheels, aero grille shutters, Eldorado inspired LED tail lights, capless gas fueling system and a hands-free tailgate. We loved the remote start and lighted Cadillac logos that appear on the ground at night.
The Escalade measures 211.9 inches in length, 81.1 inches in width and 76.7 inches in height. At first we were apprehensive to use the Super Cruise driver assist feature, but soon got used to how enjoyable a self-driving experience was enabling the driver to be hands-free. Cadillac’s amazing Super Cruise navigated four hours of our journey and is available on more than 130,000 miles of U.S. roads.
Cadillac’s 2022 Sport Platinum Escalade provided an ultra-luxurious ride to Napa and back. It’s hard to imagine taking another road trip with a different car.
Standard pricing on the Cadillac 2022 Sport Platinum Escalade is $104,595 with options reflected for our model, including Super Cruise, comes to $113,815.
