Waikiki Beach Dream Wedding Destinations

Since Oahu is known as 'The Gathering Place,' it's name reflects the island's attraction to bring together people from all parts of Hawaii and beyond. Known for its beautiful scenery, warm weather and cool trade winds, the island is an ideal wedding destination. Waikiki Beach is the spot for couples seeking a variety of activities before and after the wedding. The expansive beach, surf, rainbows and sunshine set the stage for unforgettable wedding backdrops and sunset receptions.

There are a variety of picture-perfect resorts along Waikiki that provide a chapel or beachfront ceremony. They all also have glorious view guest rooms, swimming pools and gardens overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Diamond Head.

Here are three of my favorite Waikiki Beach resorts that provide everything for the ultimate destination wedding:

Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort.

There are two Outrigger Beach Resorts right on Waikiki Beach - The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort and The Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. Both resorts offer a variety of venues and packages tailored to a bride and groom's dream wedding.

The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort's new Kahawai Chapel overlooking Waikiki Beach is the newest chapel for weddings on Waikiki Beach. Across the way from this wedding venue is Monkey Pod Restaurant for a festive wedding reception.

Choose from an assortment of reception rooms at the resort and dining options, from casual beachfront fare to elegant dining experiences. The team is happy to offer diverse culinary preferences.

In Hawaiian 'Hoi hou ke aloha means,' to 'Fall in love all over again.' At the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort, they perform complimentary Hawaiian vow ceremonies right on the beach with the resort and Diamond Head in the background. Performed in the spirit of ancient Hawaiian and Polynesian traditions, couples need to make a reservation for a vow renewal ceremony on either Tuesday and Friday mornings at 8 a.m.

Wedding prices at the Outrigger Beach Resorts start at $749 for the Gardenia Package.

Located on the widest stretch of beach, the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Hotel is 22-acres of lush tropical gardens. In the heart of the resort is AKALA Chapel and Gazebo, a picturesque wedding ceremony site. This intimate venue seats up to 50 guests. The adjacent wedding gazebo is also a picture-perfect wedding venue.

The resort offers a wedding boutique, where the bride and groom can meet privately with a wedding coordinator to select everything for their perfect day.

Take pictures before saying 'I Do' along the landscaped stairway amid tranquil streams, waterfalls and verdant lawns. The airy second-story chapel has floor-to-ceiling windows bathing natural light inside.

Couples seeking a larger venue will appreciate the beachfront ceremony sites on the sand with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop. Receptions in rooms that overlook the resort's pretty saltwater lagoon is another option.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village combines natural beauty with luxurious amenities, making it a premier choice for couples seeking a memorable wedding destination in Hawaii.

The Royal Hawaiian Resort Waikiki

The expansive lawn at The Royal Hawaiian Resort Waikiki, also known as 'The Pink Palace' offers unobstructed views of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head for an intimate Hawaiian wedding or celebration of up to 800 guests. Once the playground of Hawaii's kings and queens is now a sought after resort for business and leisure travelers, and for wedding couples.

Built in 1927, the iconic Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, is the backdrop for a luxurious Hawaiian wedding. Located at one of the most coveted spots on Waikiki Beach, guests will enjoy unrivalled panoramic views of Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach and the sparkling Pacific Ocean.

Popular daytime and evening receptions under the stars are on the expansive oceanfront lawn or at the serenely quiet Coconut Grove.

The Royal Hawaiian Resort Waikiki

The resort's Helumoa Garden is located at the epicenter of the resort. The ceremony happens in the beautiful green tropical garden among lipstick-red ginger flowers and orchids surrounded by palm and ancient banyan trees. The atmosphere of old Hawaii surrounded by a striking pink hotel, adds color to wedding photos.

The Outrigger Resorts, The Royal Hawaiian and Hilton Hawaiian Village all provide scenic beaches and a variety of wedding venues and receptions. Whether you dream of a grand celebration or a more intimate ceremony, there are options to suit every couple's vision.

Waikiki Beach provides year-round tropical climate with nearly perfect weather for outdoor weddings. With warm temperatures, sunny days, and cool evening breezes. This beach is a great destination for both ceremonies in the sand and outdoor receptions.
