The Players Championship on the PGA Tour boasts a purse of $10 million (18 percent of which goes to the winner), making it the highest prize fund of any golf tournament. Last year’s event saw an all-time attendance record, with 191,000 spectators, and this year they’re hoping to set another one with the help of their new VIP Players Club.
Hosted at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, the event will only sell a few hundred tickets to the exclusive hospitality club, which will include priority access to championship events and a plethora of new offerings. One of the highlights is a $500 shopping spree that can be spent on any on-site merchandise, as well as food and drinks from award-winning chefs and mixologists that will be flown in from all over the country.
Buyers will have access to Players Club Suites on the greens, like the one on the 17th Island Green hole that is being built over the Golf Channel’s broadcast venue—meaning that you would have a better view than those watching from home. With this ticket, you will also be allowed greater proximity to your favorite golfers and get invites to functions unavailable to other attendees.
The Players Championship takes place May 10-15 and tickets to the VIP Club runs $5,000 a person.
