This November at London’s luxury watch show SalonQP, a beautiful British timepiece that will accompany Prince Harry’s upcoming trek to the South Pole will be auctioned off for charity. The exhibition will take place at the famed Saatchi Gallery from November 7–9 and will feature many exclusive timepieces created by the world’s top luxury brands. Prince Harry’s watch, a Bremont Supermarine S500 diving watch, will be auctioned off to benefit Walking with the Wounded, a charity in aid of injured British servicemen and women. Aside from its royal pedigree, the rugged Supermarine features a 43 mm diameter case providing water resistance to 500 meters.
Now in its fifth year, SalonQP brings together the watchmaking industry’s biggest names and attracts several thousand visitors. Several exclusive new timepieces will make their debuts at the show; Hermès will show the Pendentif Boule to the public for the very first time—a new diamond-set pendant watch designed to be worn around the neck that hangs in a ball and can roll and rotate, with the back hemisphere cased in leather. The likes of TAG Heuer and Urwerk will wow the crowd with exclusives as well. In addition, the event will feature a program of demonstrations and discussions from the “best and brightest” in contemporary horology.
