While working as a hair stylist and salon owner in Scotland, Moo & Yoo co-founder Suzie Gillespie became frustrated that many of the salon products she was using were harsh and skin-irritating. She also became increasingly exasperated that plastic containers were the norm in the hair industry and she knew that despite best efforts, most are never actually recycled.
And while Suzie did find some good options, all came from overseas with a carbon impact. In the absence of anything suitable being available in the UK, Suzie and her daughter Olivia joined forces to create their own solution—Moo & Yoo, a line of gentle and natural products in fully recyclable glass bottles and jars. Initially only available within the UK, Moo & Yoo is now available to ship to the U.S.
“As a family, we always try to make a conscious effort to be more mindful of our consumer habits and the impact we have on our planet,” said Suzie. “This is why at Moo & Yoo we constantly strive to be as sustainable as possible. We always aim to use the most natural ingredients we can from sustainable and renewable sources, as well as glass and recyclable packaging. We plant a tree for every online order so any carbon emissions created in transportation are offset. We are palm oil and cruelty-free and of course our products are not tested on any animals.

Moo & Yoo luxury products are kind to the skin, to the environment, and to the planet. Using all natural ingredients from sustainable and renewable sources, and glass and recyclable packaging, Moo & Yoo products are palm oil and cruelty-free and not tested on any animals, including the Highland “Coos” that serve as the brand’s logo image.

Signature Candle, $50: customers comment on how much they love the scent of Moo & Yoo products, and thus, the team created a luxury vegan candle. The blend of powdery soft woods and florals are a velvety mix. 100% natural with biodegradable soya wax made from renewable sources, the candle comes in a reusable heavy weight glass tumbler with bamboo lid. The sustainable wooden wick gives a lovely gentle crackle as it burns and creates an even long-lasting burn.
