Marc Jacobs has just released his campaign images for his latest fragrance, Decadence, and it’s unlike anything we’ve seen from the designer before. Gone are the youthful blondes romping though fields of daises or angelic-faced models basking in the summer sun. The new campaign moves away from such playful innocence, by casting supermodel Adriana Lima in a dark and edgy ad. In the photos Lima lies on the floor in heavy eye makeup, the chain of the perfume bottle caught between her teeth. The sultry campaign was shot by Steven Meisel, styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, with Katie Grand as creative director.
To celebrate the latest addition to the Marc Jacobs fragrance collection, the designer held a party last week in New York with celebrities, models and it-girls (think Sofia Coppola and Kim Gordon). The evening was filled with live music, a performance by model Jamie Bochert, a skit by Chloë Sevigny impersonator Drew Droege and magic show (where Lima was sawed in half). Even Jacobs’ dog Neville joined in the fun.
