Anyone who’s seen a movie with Diane Kruger knows the woman is absolutely gorgeous. But not in a Hollywood glamour type of way—it’s much more of an ethereal beauty that only the select few seem to possess—unless of course her new Chanel skincare ads are to be believed. Reported earlier this year, the German actress is the new face of Chanel beauty and honestly, we can’t think of a more perfect woman for the campaign. And even better—her brand new video reaffirms our belief that every woman is beautiful—imperfections and all.

While we love seeing the actress run around bare-faced on the streets of New York, the beach and the corner of the coffee shop, the actions seem a little forced. With the combined artistry of Chanel and talent of Kruger, we expected a bit more than beachside poses and the dramatic sliding on of Chanel shades. Despite the trite imagery, however, the voiceover message rings a clearer note reminding women that beauty begins by being yourself, “it doesn’t have to prove itself…[it's] sometimes imperfect, always unique.”
