Hotel Arts Barcelona in Spain recently had the honor to host one of the hotel's top advising chefs for an unexpected and magnificent guest experience.
Sergi Arola, the mastermind behind the creative tapas bar "Arola" at Hotel Arts is a world-renowned chef. With two Michelin stars under his belt, he is known for his restaurants throughout Spain in Madrid and Ibiza, aside from Barcelona. Recently of interest to travelers has been his intimate vermouth bar (SOT) in Madrid, as vermouth has experienced a resurgence of interest in the Catlan and surrounding regions of Spain.
In addition, Sergi has advised on restaurants in Sao Paolo, (Brazil), Portugal, Switzerland, and Mumbai. Most recently, he has launched projects such as Raffles in Istanbul as well as other notable gastronomic developments in Shangri-La Abu Dhabi and Luxembourg.
So, it was to the great delight of the guests of Hotel Arts Barcelona to encounter the worldwide celebrity chef, Sergi Arola himself, present at his own "Arola" restaurant for the launch of "Arola Nights."
All throughout the summer, every summer for the past few years, Hotel Arts Barcelona has provided this luxury entertainment and dining exprience for guests of the 5 Star hotel.
In the summer of 2015, the featured musicians have been the "Sugar Drops." An eclectic live band, with members from Brazil, Italy and Argentina, they share their creative musings with guests of Hotel Arts Barcelona, playing a fusion blend of live beats and rhythms. Drawing inspiration from various African influences, samba funk, soul, rhythm, 60's 70's inspired flair, and their various international tours, the group plays beneath the stars from 10pm to midnight for guests every thursday, aside from one special Thursday.
On that special ocassion, to launch the musical series, the afore mentioned Sergi Arola and his brother Natxo Arola not only attended but performed art "Arola Nights" under the group name Joerey, a band the two founded in 2013. Guests were given a rare glimpse into the mind of the creative genious as he performed lyrics and compositions of his own, arranged by his brother.
Moral of the story, you never know when this celeb chef will make another guest appearance at Hotel Arts Barcelona, home of his brain child, Arola. It is the place to be for delicious food inspired and implented by Sergi and the team he trains at Arola restaurant, where he also occasionally makes guest appearances to exercise his creative passions.
