Australian Men's Winter Fashion

So it may be warming up in the northern hemisphere right now, but what about our neighbours down under?

I know what you’re thinking guys, I’m a girl writing about men’s fashion, I will probably want to change your style and tell you to get a haircut. Well, kind of, it’s just that there are so many different outfit combinations for winter out there other than just jeans and a hoody. So please, hear me out!

Ditching the denim can be hard as it is the main staple of most men’s wardrobe, and I’m not saying that all jeans should be burnt, in fact I would be a total hypocrite as I am sat here wearing a pair myself, but to mix it up a bit a pair of coloured chinos in warm winter shades such as burgundy, mustard or burnt orange would look rather cool. If these colours are just pushing the fashion limits too far why not try navy or classic stone. (Navy isn’t even that far removed from denim!) Teamed with a shirt and brogue style boots this look will be great for a day out or even having a few drinks with a some of your mates.

A fun take on the hoody is the zip up varsity jacket as it is just as relaxed and comfy, but has a much more stylish edge. They will work brilliantly with your new chinos and over the top of all your favourite t-shirts. For added cool add on oversized sunnies and you will be turning heads in no time.

For a change why not try a casual shirt for a relaxed but smart look. Worn open over the top of t-shirts or on their own buttoned to the top; this indie look is fast catching on. This style will look great with skinny jeans or smart trousers so you can be sure to wear this style of shirt for work or play. Teamed with plimsoll style shoes this look will be perfect band chic.

So guys, I hope you haven’t found my advice too painful to hear. But go on, try something new!
