Go Au Naturel (Kind of)
If you have curly hair, run with it. It's becoming more and more popular to rock your natural curls, and while a mop top looks edgy and a little wild on the younger generations, it looks distinguished on older gentlemen. No matter your age, it's a fun style and can transform even the dullest mane into a topic of discussion. But note that this a high maintenance 'do. Be sure that you work with a stylist who specializes in curly hair and keep in mind multiple products will be required to keep it looking perfectly coiffed. Simon Baker, Orlando Bloom and Kit Harington are perfect examples of how great this look can be.
Go With a Classic Buzz
Buzz cuts have been regaining popularity recently and almost every celebrity has sported them at one time or another. Obviously easy to maintain, a cut like this can give your strands a much needed reprieve from any bleaching, coloring or daily styling. But before you chop off your hair, decide which style is right for you. Variations in length can offer very different looks. For example an all over buzz will look better on those with stronger features while multi-length options like a fade will be more flattering on those with softer facial lines.
Sport an Undercut
The undercut is a popular look and has been trending for the last year or so-and it's not going anywhere any time soon. It's an easy-to-maintain and versatile look that works on almost every hair type and looks good on every age. The sides are buzzed short while the top is left to its own accord-it can be slicked backed, parted or styled up-and changed on a daily basis. Brad Pitt, David Beckham and Justin Timberlake have all worked this look recently.
Rock Some Length
Long hair and man buns have definitely had their moment. It was fun-we laughed, we cried, we Instagrammed, but it's over. Jared Leto is the man, but he is one of the only guys that can pull this ultra-long look off. This season opt for something a little shorter-think Johnny Depp or Chris Hemsworth-something that hits at the chin or shoulders, but not past. Be sure to ask your barber for very subtle layering so it looks effortless and edgy rather than just unkempt. Keep in mind that this style is most suited for straight or wavy hair and those with particularly curly strands are going to need to learn how to wield a flat iron.
