Far from the all-inclusives of days old with cheap food, crowded bars and lackluster rooms, Haven Riviera Cancun affords an all-inclusive lifestyle but with a luxury approach. The sleek architecture (swim-up suites make for an eye-catching element) to fine dining options and ocean views, the resort has a natural barrier to the outside world with lush vegetation between Cancun and this oceanfront oasis.

I’ve been to quite a few spas across the globe, and MySenses Spa had elements that I particularly enjoyed and found memorable. Measuring in at over 15,000 square feet, guests feel as if they have the place to themselves. The Deluxe Hydrotherapy Journey is a guided circuit with a unique experience at the Ludic Pool which includes a steam bath, sauna and cold plunge before heading to the sizeable pool area. A cascade shower, water jets, bubble floor and various showers will wash away all your cares as you float your way into blissful relaxation. Finishing with exfoliation, mini facial, arm massage and feet pressure points, you’ll be primed for a nap in your room after this tranquil experience.
Part of the Preferred Hotels L.V.X. Collection, the suites at Haven Riviera Cancun are beautifully appointed. Ranging from garden view to ocean vistas, swim out to balcony terraces and an over-the-top Presidential Suite, there is something for everyone on property. Bright, light décor and appropriately beachy without being kitschy; the crisp white sheets and light woods accentuating the design of the resort. Sprawling sandy-colored bathrooms compliment outdoor tubs and lounge areas, a seamless experience whether lounging in the room or socializing in common areas. The Presidential Suite affords not only panoramic ocean views with accompanying terrace, but a living room, complete with pool table, formal dining room and butler entrance if you choose to have a Chef prepare a meal in the suite.
Food is plentiful at the resort; flavors from around the globe unite to form a varied culinary experience from sushi to Mediterranean, Mexican cuisine to steakhouse fare. My personal favorite was Olios, the Mediterranean-inspired outlet. The Chef’s Table tasting menu featured several courses of seasonal veggies, fish and beef, topped off with a sculptural dessert and after-dinner sip of Licor 43 Cuarenta y Tres, a Spanish liquor that pairs perfectly with coffee.
Limes 14/50 is another lounge that I particularly enjoyed, with rooftop terrace and outdoor seating, the playful menu includes Mezcel-infused libations and tajin-rimmed glasses. Have the bartender surprise you with a flavor profile or order from the curated menu for regionally-flavored drinks you won’t find elsewhere. The Moet & Chandon Corner Champagne outdoor lounge is another elevated experience found on property, above the two-story lobby atrium overlooking the ocean beyond.
For after-hours fun, Moons nightclub is a perfect place to dance the night away after the sun sets. From live music to special performances by comedians and stage shows, the resort takes on a new persona after dark.
The heart of the resort can be found centered around its pools; from the serenity pool to infinity pool with swim-up bar, the heartbeat can be felt around these bodies of water. Whether relaxing and sunbathing in the tropical climes, or exchanging vows on property with these as the backdrop, the aquatic element is a visceral cornerstone of the property and a siren song to guests.
