If you’re fed up with the royal wedding hysteria and want something different to do over spring break, this could be your cup of tea. Release your inner rebel by taking a booth at the Met Bar and indulging in the An-Tea Establishment Afternoon Tea.

Paying homage to British punk rock icons of the past, this will have all the elements of the quintessential British afternoon tea but with a distinct Metropolitan twist, using low fat, healthy ingredients that satisfy without the calories.

Dishes include 'Quiche a la Fergie,' with chorizo and spinach on a thin pastry base; no-bread cucumber sandwiches featuring layered cucumber jelly with a bread foam and a healthy new take on the prawn cocktail using a crème fraiche dressing. Those with a sweet tooth will not be disappointed.

The menu includes strawberries and cream mini macaroons; rhubarb and custard cupcakes made with olive oil instead of butter and natural sweeteners from the rhubarb replacing sugar; healthy trifle made with real fruit, low fat custard sprinkled with cocoa nibs served in a shot glass, and a refined jam roly-poly served with a fresh strawberry compote on a bamboo tray.

In keeping with the punk rock theme, dishes will be decorated with iconic slogans and images of the era so you really can have your cake and eat it too!

A special cocktail menu inspired by the Sex Pistols and other punk influences will include the wicked 'God Save The Queen' and the intoxicating concoction 'The Filth and The Fury.' Those seeking a milder form of rebellion will enjoy the list of non-alcoholic cocktails, teas and a range of fresh juices and smoothies.

A punk rock playlist inspired by the artists from the era has been created to enhance the atmosphere, in the decadent and louche surroundings of this iconic London hotel bar. The menu will be served from April 22 to May 8 from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday - Monday. Priced at £27 per person + service. Cocktails extra. Reservations must be pre-booked.
