Polo teams representing Brazil and England will battle it out on July 24 at Cartier International Day, the world's most prestigious polo event, at the UK's famed Guards Polo Club.
The morning will see teams sponsored by Audi and the Financial Times compete for the Golden Jubilee Trophy. The international teams will take the field for the Coronation Cup match in the afternoon, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Prince Charles frequently presents the Cup to the winning team, while Prince Harry has competed in the tournament in the past.
Though tickets to the event, sponsored by Cartier, may be purchased by the general public, the coveted Royal Box, Cartier marquee and members' areas are strictly by invitation only. VIP guests from the worlds of fashion, the stage, screen, society and commerce - or "models, thespians, art collectors and captains of industry" as the London Telegraph puts it - are entertained over a gourmet lunch prepared by renowned chef Anton Mosimann. The well-heeled can also book a private suite located within the Smith's Lawn Enclosure, close to the action on the field. For more information, visit GuardsPoloClub.com.
