Famed DJ Calvin Harris has become the latest music star to sign an extended residency deal in Las Vegas. Earlier in the week global hospitality company Hakkasan Group announced a new three-year partnership with the award-winning artist that will involve many of their brands. Not only a DJ, Harris is also a writer and producer, meaning that his talents could be utilized in countless ways over the next three years.
“Calvin Harris’ dedication, passion and creativity echo Hakkasan Group’s approach to business so it’s the perfect partnership for us," says Neil Moffitt, CEO of Hakkasan Group. "I have been involved in electronic music for many years now, so on a personal level it is hugely exciting to work with the leading international DJ talents."
So what does this mean for fans of Harris? During the course of his partnership the British artist will exclusively play at Hakkasan venues in Vegas, so if you want to check him out and don't live in Vegas, traveling will be in your future. He will also act as a music consultant, helping the global brand to refine their sound and image as they move into the hotel world. By developing new concepts, Harris will help Hakkasan give guests and fans once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Harris seems pretty thrilled with the new deal, saying, “Hakkasan Group’s heritage in part goes right back to the ‘90s golden era of dance music and I am excited to be able to play a part in this next chapter of its story. Its venues are some of the best in the world for dance music and the opportunity to be part of the wider group as it develops into other markets and sectors is a really exciting prospect for me as an artist. We have some great ideas up our sleeves.”
