Hotels are getting a lot smarter nowadays, thanks to iPad check-ins, smartphone keyless entry, robot butlers and now, voice-activated rooms. Aloft has debuted two new properties that are utilizing voice commands to allow guests to ask Siri anything they’d like while in their rooms.
Called “Project Jetson,” the brand’s Boston and Santa Clara, California hotels are currently the only two properties offering the service. When guests check-in, a custom iPad will be waiting within their rooms, allowing them to control some of the room’s features with the “Hey, Siri” command. Want the temperature to be set at a cool 68 degrees? Siri can take care of it. Want to dim the lights and watch Stranger Things on Netflix? She’s got you covered.
Siri will also give local recommendations for when you’re ready to navigate the city. Aloft’s new technology is really giving “never have to lift a finger,” new meaning within their hotels. “Hey, Siri, where do the cute guys hang out in Boston? Asking for a friend.”
