While private jet companies partnering with hotels is not a new concept, it has definitely taken awhile for it to really take flight across the globe (pun intended). Four Seasons has their own private plane which took its first world journey in 2013, BlueStar Jets is in partnership with four different boutique hotels across the US and The Gansevoort Hotel Group selected JetFlite International as their exclusive private aviation provider.
But with the number of business travelers and high-profile guests frequenting luxury properties each year, it would seem like a no brainer for the aviation and hospitality industry. One new pairing is Shangri-La hotels and Victor, an on-demand private-jet booking service, which now works with the brand to offer fliers exclusive hotel perks.
Victor’s passengers are encouraged to take up Jade membership of Shangri-La’s Golden Circle (GC) loyalty program. GC members are guaranteed room availability (72 hours in advance), priority upgrades, pre-registration and complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi. Shangri-La’s members will also now receive a $1,500 charter discount and preferential booking rates at any of the brand’s 97 hotels. To book a chartered flight, users can easily do so via an iOS app that gives real-time charter estimates, side-by-side available jet comparisons, aircraft details and digital travel itineraries. The service is also available on Apple Watches. Enrollment in the program must be completed by December 31, 2016.
