Remember Hurricane Odile, the category four tropical cyclone that tore through the Baja California Peninsula in September of last year? The Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort certainly does, since they, along with countless businesses, had to close for repairs in the aftermath of the destructive hurricane. Refusing to be beat, the luxury hotel undertook a multi-million dollar renovation and with phase one complete, the resort has now officially reopened.
“A beloved seaside retreat for more than a decade, we are proud to reopen our doors with a far superior product and the exceptional service standards our guests know and love,” says Tim Booth, general manager, Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort. “Thanks to our devoted on-property team and partners at Hilton, we are thrilled to welcome guests back to relax, play and discover the endless beauty of sunny Los Cabos, Mexico.”
The transformation includes new culinary concepts, 65 Club-level suites and a 7,000-square-foot spa/salon. Interior design firm Hirsch Bedner & Associates was brought in for the guestrooms, which feature Mexican culture-inspired touches that blend with bright textiles and curated artworks.
The resort has not only improved the El Meson and Madero dining venues, but it has also launched three new food options: the Mio swim-up bar, Azul lobby bar and La Onda beach bar. Azul even offers complimentary SubZero Tequila and mezcal to guests upon arrival, while La Onda provides chilled beers and ceviches directly to your beachside lounger. El Meson offers guests seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers, present in the farm-to-fork breakfast and sea-to-table dinner menu.
Phase one also includes many retail options—like a new hat shop that has 15 handmade styles—private cabanas, and many enhancements to the pre-existing 375 guestrooms, like hand-painted murals. “In August, the resort will unveil La Vista Club, an entirely new ‘hotel within a hotel’ concept with 65 rooms and suites, as well as exclusive privileges and luxury touches, including private facilities serving complimentary culinary creations for its members.” Plus, phase two is set to finish in September and will unveil a new 7,000-square-foot spa concept that will focus on holistic health and fitness, an upgraded Cabo Kids Camp, and a fine dining option called Vela.
