Atlanta is getting in on the farm-to-table cuisine taking over the nation, with the new opening of The Family Dog, from the creators of Rosebud.
The no frills place is designed to be the neighborhood watering hole, complete with creative, farm-to-table cuisine like Smoked Trout Potato Skins. No bar would be complete without liquor and The Family Dog has it anyway you like it, from whiskey flights to handcrafted beers and cocktails like Spiked Shandys (SweetWater IPA, rye whiskey and ginger beer).
Music is also a prominent feature, with a wide selection of tunes available for dancing to, or just enjoying, on the jukebox. The neighborhood joint with an upscale twist is open late nights for the revelers, but also has a full menu selection for those who like to eat.
To go with your drink, there are plenty of snacks, including housemade cheetohs infused with pork, as well as pickles, pretzels and more. Along with a selection of burgers and sandwiches, you can also find small plates and main plates for larger appetites. Main plates include Southern-style favorites like shrimp and grits and small plates offer more international flavor, with many Asian-inspired touches, like the Korean duck quesadilla.
Just now opened, The Family Dog is a brand new mix of high and low, a perfect place for tourists to mingle with the locals.
