The Royal Palm Suite’s name is a nod to one of the first hotels in the area, The Royal Palm Hotel, which was built by well-known railroad magnate Henry Flagler. It also featured the city's first electric lights, elevators and swimming pool. The color pallet of the room, the white screen and texture of the walls and materials all extend from the name. The Metropolis Suite name is a nod to Miami’s first newspaper, The Miami Metropolis. The front page of the first paper printed hangs in the suite.
