If you dreamed of being a pirate as a kid, only to grow up to shed your innocent aspirations, you have the opportunity to dust that dream off now. Johnny Depp, everyone's favorite Captain Jack Sparrow, has been offering up his private luxury yacht, Vajoliroja, for years now for rent though Burgess Yachts. The yacht can be chartered for some winter cruising through the Bahamas and Caribbean for €98,000 (around $130,000) a week in the peak season and €84,000 (around $110,000) in the low season, and is also available for some summer Mediterranean cruising.Vajoliroja is definitely an odd name but there's a purpose behind it; it's a combination of the first letters of Depp's ex-partner's name Vanessa Paradis (Va-), his own name (-jo-), their daughter Lily-Rose (-liro-) and son Jack (-ja). For years the yacht has been Depp's way to get to his private island in the Bahamas, Little Hall's Pond Cay, to spend some quality time with his family, making the vessel a relaxing and opulent reflection of his personal style.
Built by Proteksan Turquoise, this 47.6 meter (156 ft) yacht was launched in 2001 (refitted in 2008) and according to the ship's site, features a design inspired by "the classic gentleman's yachts of the 1930's." With an Art Deco style, the yacht features a rich color palette that favors shades of deep red, which successfully gives off the romanticism of a bygone era.
Vajoliroja has room for ten guests in five cabins (master stateroom, VIP cabin, double cabin, twin cabin, and a bunk cabin) and eight crew members. It comes equipped with many different types of water toys, including waterski's, a wakeboard, kneel board, and snorkeling equipment.
If you’re unsure what course to take once you rent the Vajoliroja, the ship's site has itinerary suggestions for all three locations. If the Mediterranean is your choice, you may want to start in Antibes and head to Porquerolles, Cannes, and end up in Monte-Carlo. For the Bahamas, start in Nassau and sail to Allen's Cay, Warderick Wells, and Rose Island. If you choose the Caribbean, the site suggests a long itinerary of Antigua, Marigot Bay, St Vincent, Bequia, Tobago Cays, and Grenada.
