Tesla just made it a lot easier to travel long distances in their all-electric cars, thanks to their recently announced venture with Airbnb. Even though Tesla has already invested millions into their charging station network, they are taking it one step farther by bringing a supercharger directly to select homeowners who utilize the popular home-sharing app.
As of publication, the offering is only available at 15 California homes, but the two companies plan on expanding globally as soon as they can. If you’re interested in attracting Tesla owners to your own home, you have to meet certain requirements to be considered for a free charging station (which costs $750). The entire home needs to be available, have had more than five bookings, and has an overall rating of at least four stars. Though getting the charger is technically free, you would still have to pay for the installation costs, which ranges between $200 and $900, according to Fortune.
