While the world’s most exquisite vintage automobiles prepared to parade onto the seaside Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance showgrounds last weekend, car manufacturers from Bentley to Lexus rolled out their luxury model debuts. The surprise star of the Infiniti Pavilion at the event was the new 2016 Infiniti Q70 Premium Select Edition, a specially-equipped Q70 premium sedan that will be available at retailers nationwide this November.
Special guests got a sneak peek of the special Q70 at a cocktail party on the lawn of The Lodge at Pebble Beach, the exact site of the next day’s climactic parade of classic cars. During a Kentucky bourbon tasting of Angels Envy, Blanton’s, Basil Hayden’s and Knob Creek—curated by the impressive new Stave Wine Cellar at Spanish Bay—party guests viewed the design and mingled with Infinity Chief Creative Officer Shiro Nakamura, and Randy Parker, Vice President of Infiniti Americas.
"Following the introduction last year of the new Infiniti Q70 long-wheelbase model, we are continuing to expand our flagship Q70 sedan's portfolio of offerings," said Parker. "The new Premium Select Edition package gives the Q70 an extra touch of premium elegance that is right at home here at Pebble Beach—or in any neighborhood or driveway across the country."
The Q70’s exterior features dark chrome trim, a darkened and lowered rear bumper, a rear deck-lid spoiler, and unique 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 245/40R20 all-season performance tires. The interior is equally sporty, with its suede-like headliner, aluminum trim, illuminated kick plates, floor mats with contrasting piping, and semi-aniline leather seating available in graphite or stone.
Though prices have not yet been announced, Infiniti’s Premium Select Edition will be offered on standard wheelbase Q70 3.7, Q70 3.7 AWD, Q70 5.6 and non-Hybrid Q70 5.6 AWD models.
