To kick start the New Year, Tesla's Elon Musk took to his Twitter to announce that his company is working on a charger that will automatically extend from the wall and connect to your car "like a solid metal snake. For realz." According to The Verge, the system will work with all existing Model S autos, but it's not yet known whether it will be created for at-home charging ports, outside stations, or both. Knowing Musk and his futuristic—borderline eerie—jump on technology, we won't be disappointed with the end result.
Btw, we are actually working on a charger that automatically moves out from the wall & connects like a solid metal snake. For realz.

The CEO first mentioned such a charging system back in October when speaking about new hardware that had been put into the Model S, an automatic charger port door. He wants the car to be able to drop off its driver and take care of everything else itself, from parking to charging. It's starting to sound like if anyone is on the verge of creating an AI auto, it's Musk. Let's just be thankful that he's aware of the dangers of emulating the human brain, because we definitely don't want a Terminator situation on our hands.
