Have you ever thought you yourself, "Man, I could really go for a music box that plays tunes from Star Trek and Star Wars"? If yes, the Swiss Musical Starship heirloom music…ship is for you. This little craft is made in Sainte-Croix, Switzerland by renowned horologists Reuge and has three, 35-second melodies programmed within — the Star Wars theme, the "Imperial March", and the Star Trek theme. Designed to look like a starship, it's made from black-lacquered walnut and has a brass vibration plate that apparently gives perfect resonance. The twin outriggers are made from anodized aluminum and the nickel-plated brass cylinder is treated with resin, rotating via a Cartel 4.144 movement. The wire pins are plucked by a 72-note tempered-steel comb, where each tooth within is tuned to a specific frequency. This modern-day music box doesn't just play sci-fi themes though, the second cylinder plays three classic rock songs in the form of "The Wall," "Smoke on the Water," and "Imagine."
