On September 17, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts will host its first-ever North American polo match at the Greenwich Polo Club in Connecticut, featuring St. Regis Connoisseur Nacho Figueras, the Ralph Lauren model and international polo star.
The winning team will be presented with the St. Regis 1904 Polo Cup, celebrating the legend and legacy of the St. Regis brand. The event will also commemorate the 30th anniversary of Greenwich Polo Club and the 135th anniversary year of the birth of polo in the United States. The legendary St. Regis hotel in New York was opened in 1904 under the auspices of John Jacob Astor IV.
In 2010 Figueras was named the first-ever St. Regis Connoisseur, initiating a series of programs to bring St. Regis guests into contact with the aristocratic sport.
