CES 2015 may not officially start until tomorrow, but tech companies are already throwing their newest gadgets into the spotlight. Avegant recently released a new clip showing off their finished Glyph headset in action, during what could be a typical day for the wearer. The design is a cool combination of headphones and wearable display, and while previous concept models showed a bulky, unattractive mash-up of plastic, this new version is the total opposite. The sleek Glyph looks indistinguishable from other luxury headphones, except it has eyepieces integrated within the headband. Whenever you want to use the display, you simply swing it down over your eyes without having to take the pads off your ears. We wouldn't be surprised is Glyph arises as one of Oculus Rift's major contenders because personally, we much prefer this design—yes, we know they aren't the same exactly, but close enough—and we can't wait to get our hands on one.
You can preorder a Glyph now for $499 (it jumps up to $599 after January 15) for an expected fall 2015 shipping date.
