For corporate charter flights from New York to Washington, D.C., there are two major airports in the D.C. area that are accessible by corporate jet aircraft: Washington Dulles International (IAD) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). The Washington Dulles Airport is located in Chantilly, Virginia, 35 miles away from the city. The Ronald Reagan National Airport is conveniently located only three miles away from the Washington D.C. business district. Unfortunately, the Ronald Reagan DCA airport is also the hardest airport to gain entry to because of its close proximity to the city center.
In previous years, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has restricted charter jet access to the Ronald Reagan DCA airport for security reasons. Currently, TSA mandates that all private jet charter flights to DCA must first pass TSA screening at select airports, known as "gateway airports," prior to landing at Ronald Reagan Airport. Until recently, the only gateway airports in the New York area were the Teterboro Airport (TEB) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This means that private jet flights to Washington, D.C. from non-gateway airports such as White Plains (HPN) or LaGuardia (LGA) are required to utilize Washington Dulles Airport.

The DASSP program was established by TSA to grant more charter aircraft access to the Ronald Reagan airport. The addition of the Republic Airport to the TSA gateway airport list will enable Stratos Jets to provide jet charter service from New York to DCA on a diverse line of private jet aircraft. These charter aircraft range from the turboprop category King Air B200, to the heavy jet class Gulfstream GIV, which can accommodate the individual needs of every politician and business executive. These corporate jet aircraft have met with the strict safety requirements of the Stratos Jets Approved Vendor Program as well as all Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Transportation regulations. By providing a direct connection between New York and Downtown Washington D.C., Stratos Jets hopes to offer the most valuable jet charter service for politicians and government officials this election season.
