If you follow Tom Ford on social media then you’ll have noticed that as of yesterday the brand’s pages have been filled with pictures of Daniel Craig on the set of the new James Bond movie. But Ford isn’t just a 007 fan; the brand has officially announced they will be dressing Bond for the upcoming film, Spectre. This marks the third film that Ford has dressed for the franchise, having previously outfitted Craig for Skyfall and Quantum of Solace. At this point it’s safe to say he’s the official outfitter of 007.
“I could not be happier to be dressing Daniel Craig as James Bond again in the upcoming film, Spectre. James Bond epitomizes the Tom Ford man in his elegance, style and love of luxury,” Ford said in a statement. “It is an honor to move forward with this iconic character.” Working closely with the film’s costume designer Jany Temime, the two created an entire line of bespoke pieces including suits, shirts, ties, accessories, eveningwear, and even exclusive eyewear.
A total of six looks were designed and each piece was handmade in Italy. The first look is a black gabardine coat, a striped Windsor suit with an O’Conner waistcoat, a shirt accessorized with a tie bar and silk pocket square and sunglasses. A second includes a quilted cardigan jacket and gabardine twill ski pants. Another features a Windsor ivory viscose faille dinner jacket paired with O’Connor black evening trousers, and a shirt accessorized with a black satin cummerbund and a black silk grosgrain bow tie. The final look includes a gray pinstripe two-piece single-breasted O’Connor suit, a shirt and a navy blue cashmere herringbone Crombie coat. The last look includes a blue, Prince of Wales, two-piece single-breasted O’Connor suit and a shirt in blue cotton poplin. Unfortunately you'll have to wait until the film's release on November 6 to see all these suits in action.
