Wouldn’t we all love to be able to do parkour? It just looks so badass. To add to the cool-factor, Rag & Bone presented their latest collection—as they always do—through moving content. For Spring/Summer 2016, they ditched the models and instead asked the best-of-the-best of parkour enthusiasts to present their latest collection through a short film.
In a palette that mirrors the city, the collection was full of concrete grays, crystal whites and shadowy blacks, matching flawlessly with the film’s setting where the athletes jumped, tumbled and somersaulted through gritty, urban landscapes.
Essentials for the urban dweller (and hard-core parkour-lovers), the collection borrows from a modern, minimal sportswear aesthetic, and is made up of lightweight materials like nylon and cotton (perfect for leaping around smoothly). Subtle stripe detailing and tough leather bomber jackets kept the simplistic cuts exciting, and backpacks were the obvious choice for the fast-moving man who needs to get from A to B without any trouble.
Garments were uncomplicated, filled with the staples: simple shirts, shorts and trousers all layered together to create a look that was full of confident, easy, urban masculinity. Now, if only parkour could be as easy. Oh well, at least we’ll still look good.
