Well it looks like Kimye is not going out without a bang. While 2014 has undeniably been a big year for "the world's most talked about couple" Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, it looks like one last huzzah is in order. Announced this morning—via Kim’s Instagram feed, of course—the two are the new stars of Balmain’s Spring 2015 menswear collection. And as the couple has been seen wearing (matching) Balmain pieces since Fashion Week, Kim’s sister Kendall Jenner has been walking in the brand’s runway shows and creative director Oliver Rousteing even sent North West her own baby Balmain jacket, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that the two are fronting the new campaign.
Shot by Mario Sorrenti, the men’s campaign is a far cry from the women’s images that debuted just a few weeks ago, where models were seen chowing down on burgers and playing a few fierce rounds of Nintendo. Here Kanye is stoic, Kim is clearly playing second fiddle and most of their images seem almost romantic, playing off the campaign title, Army of Lovers. "For this Menswear campaign, I wanted to capture a moment of love. Kim and Kanye are style icons and friends. It is an honor to have them in this Balmain campaign,” Rousteing said in a statement. “Together, they represent love, beauty and diversity—they are the new modernity. This is more than a campaign, it expresses something beyond clothes—it is a celebration of love and friendship. This is a new statement for Balmain."
