Okay, truth be told Gucci Guilty comes in both men’s and women’s fragrances, so this article could have gone either way, except for the fact that it’s latest campaign is clearly geared toward a male demographic. Captain America riding on a fiery motorcycle? Bombshell blondes in sky-high heels? A noir comic book setting for a lustful afternoon quickie? This one minute video is basically everything a man could want in an ad. Gucci Guilty’s newest fragrance campaign, titled the New Chapter, stars actors Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans in a Frank Miller-directed commercial about fast bikes, fast cars, fast women and—fragrances.
If the commercial looks familiar that’s because it is. The New Chapter was taken from an earlier Gucci Guilty ad that appeared in 2010 and has been revised, updated and given a more Sin City feel than its predecessor. Coming in two new versions, the campaign offers a safe-for-tv shortened Rebel Edit, that’s set to the tunes of Friendly Fires, while the longer (and more scandalous) version, Noir Edit, rocks out with singer Bat For Lashes. While the director has been working with Wood and Evans for Gucci since 2010, we have to admit the newest version is probably our favorite campaign from the three creatives. Besides with a name like Guilty it only makes sense they would be up to no good.
