In 1930, in the midst of the Great Depression, H. L. Geary boldly opened the doors of his brick-front general store, which carried goods that ranged from cosmetics to hardware. Gearys Beverly Hills not only survived those early years but soon flourished to become a landmark of luxury retail, with an unrivaled selection of luxury items—from fine jewelry to home goods from brands including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Baccarat, Hermès, Christofle, and Bernardaud—and a level of customer service that has remained uncompromising for more than 90 years.
For the past 15 of those years, Thomas J. Blumenthal has served as President and CEO of Gearys Beverly Hills, ushering the iconic brand to new heights. He has become one of the most respected curators of luxury in the country and a noted speaker on the history and trends of the luxury industry.
Recently, Blumenthal joined the Small Business Show podcast to discuss his task of delivering this storied brand through the Coronavirus pandemic and adapting to changing customer habits and desires.
