When two long-standing businesses decide to collaborate, something great is always bound to happen. With a combined 425 years of experience between them, longtime favorite British houses Asprey and Bovet will soon be using their brand power in an effort to further each of their own collections, and we are excited to see what the future holds. Asprey will soon represent Bovet timepieces in their Beverly Hills and Miami studios, and by 2016, Bovet will be designing and manufacturing watches specifically for Asprey, a move that will hopefully work in both of their favors.
Both brands have been officially recognized by royalty, Asprey was awarded the first Royal Warrant for Dressing Cases, Travelling Bags and Writing Cases in 1862 by Queen Victoria and has held a Royal Warrant from every British monarch since that date, including the Royal Warrant as Jewelers, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths given by Prince Charles. Bovet was originally a supplier to the Chinese Emperor in the 19th century, and in the last decade alone has won over 10 international awards. To this day many of their pocket watches are still on display within the Forbidden City.
With such rich histories it seems impossible that a partnership between these two brands could producing anything but the best, however the results of this joining remain to be seen. Known for their artistic takes on Swiss watchmaking, Bovet is poised to be the driving force behind the collaboration gaining from new sales in the United States as well as being the sole manufacturer of the upcoming Asprey watch collection. There’s no word yet on the aesthetic, price point or features of the Asprey line so we’ll have to keep our ear to the ground as we head into 2015.
