'20s Style Jewelry We Love Inspired By The Great Gatsby

As the upcoming release date of The Great Gatsby remake approaches, (May 10 for those of you who are out of the loop) the film is having more of an affect than just sending Leo-hungry fans into overdrive— it’s also setting the grounds for a tizzy of Gatsby-esque trends in everything from hand-crafted cocktails to theme parties (and don’t even get me started on the weddings!) One undeniable movement is the Gatsby-inspired jewelry that has recently emerged— and with an array of diamond, pearl and onyx pieces referencing everything from Art Deco to flapper fringe, we can’t say we’re disappointed. Here, we put together a list of some of our favorite 1920’s style jewelry that even Daisy Buchanan herself would lust after.

Tiffany & Co.

Tiffany is responsible for the glitzy glamorous jewels that will be featured in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s upcoming remake, so it’s no surprise the hundreds-year-old brand created a collection of similarly-themed stunners for its modern consumers. The Ziegfeld Collection is just that, with an array of necklaces, earrings, cufflinks, bracelets, and pendants made of sterling silver with black onyx and white pearls. Named for New York’s legendary Ziegfeld Theatre, the collection is a true reflection of the ‘20s that has us looking for a flapper dress at the very sight of these dazzling gems.

Tacori

Tacori is best known as a source for bridal jewelry like engagement rings and wedding bands, however the family-owned luxury brand created a collection that we just simply can’t take our eyes off of, and we have a feeling Daisy Buchanan wouldn’t have been able to resist, either. The label’s newest collection is called City Lights, and we have a feeling that the timing of its release isn’t mere coincidence. Echoing “the iconic Hollywood glamour of the past,” City Lights includes a selection of cocktail rings, pendants, necklaces in dramatic hues like fuchsia, emerald and marine blue.

In true entrepreneurial form, Ivanka Trump is on a roll: the businesswoman has an established jewelry collection and added fine leather goods and a new fragrance to her repertoire earlier this year. Many of the jewelry line’s collections clearly take inspiration from the ‘20s with hints of Art Deco, black and white contrasts, and even a lace effect that so clearly mimic the elegant fabric. But perhaps the one that most resonates with The Great Gatsby is the mother of one’s Tassel Collection, which is “inspired by the extravagance of Hollywood’s golden age,” according to the designer. The collection’s earrings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, and lariats made of pearl, diamonds, and onyx remind us of the flapper dresses and elegant chandeliers that were so prominent in that iconic era.
