DANNIJO Fall 2012 Collection Makes a Statement for a Good Cause

DANNIJO is the brainchild of sisters Danielle and Jodie Snyder, who turned their childhood hobbies of jewelry making into a high-end luxury jewelry line with a cause. Launched in 2008, the brand is constantly affiliated with different philanthropic initiatives, most of those aiding women in different parts of Africa. The bohemian, rock ‘n’ roll pieces with classic sensibility make for a versatile and ever-changing statement collection, visible through large stones and intricate jewels set in chunky, detailed metal.
The delicate gemstones and crystals in these pieces provide bright hues against the antique details of the metals they are set in, making for complex pieces that can spice up-or compliment- any ensemble. Swarovski crystals are popularly used in the necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings. Set against authentic stones and neon crystals, these pieces combine unexpected elements that make for a perfectly complex look.
DANNIJO’s necklaces have a special place in the Fall 2012 Collection. Many of the bold necklaces are a “bib style,” making for beautiful staple pieces that can take an outfit, no matter how extravagant, to a whole new level. Swarovski elements are popular in the necklaces, as well, along with intricate woven chains, that can spice up a casual tee or complement a black tie event.
There are many styles of bracelets to choose from, including large and skinny cuffs, delicate clasp pieces and even stackable bangles. Choose from categories like “Brights,” “Deco,” “Rocker,” and“Metal Moment” to complement your mood. Earrings and rings are equally as impressive in the Fall 2012 collection, again utilizing Swarovski crystals, neon jewels, and turquoise and other exotic stones to create a bohemian-deco twist. Most of DANNIJO pieces are handmade, ensuring appealing originality.
DANNIJO has been known to be affiliated with causes like Falling Whistles, a non-profit trying to bring peace to the Congo, and other women’s empowerment initiatives. The sisters continue to incorporate forward thinking into their brand: they’ve partnered with a Rwandan women’s cooperative to hand-make all DANNIJO packaging. Their celebrity following includes Blake Lively, Beyonce, and Rihanna, and Natalie Portman has called the jewelry the “gift to give,” due to its philanthropic inception.
