Redmint was founded by Helina Fan, who, in seeking relief for her own mood swings and aches and pains, eschewed the heavily-dosed pharmaceuticals prescribed by Western physicians. Instead, she researched alternative therapies and discovered TCM. Via acupuncture, herbal remedies, massage, and other TCM treatments, she started to reclaim her balance. “In discovering these alternative and holistic treatments that worked so well for me, I wanted to share their efficacy, and thus, Redmint was born,” said Fan. “Redmint is the manifestation of my mission to demystify powerful TCM practices and make them accessible to all.”
TCM, the oldest medical philosophy in the world, developed through the observation of nature and the cosmos. It is rooted in the wisdom of Taoism, the concepts of Yin & Yang, and the 5 Elements. TCM believes that health and balance are promoted by the unobstructed flow of “Qi” or “life energy,” the electricity generated by the body that is transmitted along pathways known as meridians and channels. It works on the core principle that a balanced body empowers one to thrive physically and mentally. At Redmint, practitioners integrate a wide range of TCM modalities such as acupuncture, herbal remedies, cupping, therapeutic massage, moxibustion, gua sha, and sound therapy in helping to ease pain and inflammation, insomnia, stress digestion, headaches, hormone imbalances and more. Fan also personally developed Redmint’s innovative skincare line when she could not find natural and organic products that met her high standards. She spent years researching and developing the products, which are made at a local lab. The uniquely active formulations feature ancient powerhouse ingredients filled with antioxidants, vitamins, and fatty acids, that leave skin hydrated, nourished, and revived. The collection includes: the 5 Elements ageless skincare line inspired by the five elements theories of TCM, the Pearl Illuminance collection that features pearl powder and goji berry extract blended with rice water for brightening and illuminating, and the anti-inflammatory Hemp collection (Huo Ma Ren) that prevents aging, clears skin impurities, and brightens the complexion.
