Famous offspring are trending: Willow Smith just landed an ambassadorship with Chanel, Lily-Rose Depp reps the French brand’s eyewear line, and Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon just landed a campaign with Stella McCartney. One of four models for the new Pop fragrance, 19-year-old Leon poses beside actress Amandla Stenberg, singer Claire Boucher (A.K.A. Grimes) and fellow celebrity progeny Kenya Kinski-Jones, the daughter of Quincy Jones and Nastassja Kinski.
“I’ve known Lola since the day she was born, and it’s been an amazing experience to see her grow and become an inspiring young woman. This is her first [campaign], her first everything, she’s popped. Lola has popped,” McCartney told WWD. The authenticity and the girl power message of the campaign is well suited for the University of Michigan theater student who is just coming into her own.
It’s a big change for Leon who, for the most part, has shied away from the spotlight and done her best to stay far away from the paparazzi over the years. It’ll be interesting to see where her career goes from here, should she follow in her mother’s footsteps or enter the world of fashion.
