Once again it’s time for the Cannes Film Festival. We love awards season with all its jaw-dropping, red-carpet gowns, but it almost pales in comparison to the week-long sartorial goodness of this annual industry event. Last night was the first evening of the festival and while it wasn’t our favorite, there are another 10 days of eveningwear to inspire us. At last night’s opening gala, a number of gowns were pulled straight from the runway, like Kristen Stewart’s edgy Chanel ensemble and Doutzen Kroes’s Brandon Maxwell floor-length dress. Our absolute favorite looks of the evening included Kirsten Dunst’s drop-dead-gorgeous poppy Gucci gown and Blake Lively’s nude, embellished Atelier Versace dress, which highlighted just a hint of a baby bump. But the look that blew everyone else out of water was Bella Hadid and her embroidered Roberto Cavalli gown. Paired with a fresh face, done by the artists at Charlotte Tilbury, and a diamond statement choker by De Grisogono, the 19-year-old model brought her same high-fashion look from the runway to the red carpet. We’re excited to see what else she’ll be wearing this coming week.
