There are film festivals and then there are film festivals—and Cannes is a different breed entirely; with or without a passion for filmmaking, no one can deny it’s one of the biggest celebrity events of the year. Totally disregarding the movie reviews (because we were way too focused on the fashion), the festival was filled with gorgeous gowns and glittering frocks that made the Oscars look paltry. After just one day, we’re pretty sure this is the red carpet to beat. Nicole Kidman in Armani Privé, Zoe Saldana in Victoria Beckham and Laetitia Casta in Dior Haute Couture all looked sparkling, but Blake Lively was an instant beauty in a red Gucci Première dress that displayed the perfect amount of skin. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
