Kate Middleton and Prince William have landed in NYC! After their flight across the pond, the royals were seen looking picture perfect when they arrived at the Carlyle Hotel last night. Kate was sporting a purple tweed coat and boots (and a very visible baby bump!), while the prince sported a killer navy blue suit. Soon after she changed into an all-black ensemble for a private dinner in the city—how very New York of Kate! This morning Prince William went to Washington D.C. to speak at the World Bank Conference about putting an end to illegal wildlife trading, while Kate visited a child development center in Harlem with Chirlane McCray, the First Lady of New York. The rest of their stateside itinerary is filled—tonight the two will watch the Nets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game (where rumors say they’ll meet up with American royalty Beyoncé and Jay Z), before they visit the September 11 Memorial and Museum and attend the University of St. Andrews 600th Anniversary Dinner at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Tuesday.
Politics aside, we confesses we’re just excited to see what the Duchess will be wearing on her tour of the city, and so far she’s been dressing in some very on-point designs, starting with her Seraphine Maternity plum tweed coat. Her first change gave her a total New York look with a knee-length (and likely Queen-approved) black lace Beulah London dress paired with Stuart Weitzman for Russell & Bromley heels. We’re most interested in seeing what Kate will wear courtside tonight when she (hopefully) meets Beyoncé. Can you imagine the two style icons just gal-palling around?
