The Pirelli calendar is officially here. We gave you a glimpse of a few behind-the-scenes shots back in July, when it was announced that Candice Huffine—the calendar’s first plus-sized model—would be gracing the pages, but now it’s a sexy, no-holds-barred, free-for-all. Like the Campari calendar, the Pirelli calendar is gifted to a chosen few when the holidays hit, while the rest of us only gaze on in awe and envy. This year the calendar features supermodels Sasha Luss, Adriana Lima, Anna Ewers, Carolyn Murphy, Isabeli Fontana, Karen Elson, Natalia Vodianova, Joan Smalls, Cameron Russell, Raquel Zimmermann, Gigi Hadid and Candice Huffine. Lensed by Steven Meisel, styled by Carine Roitfeld, with Pat McGrath as the lead makeup artist, the calendar is everything we assumed it would be—it’s stunning. But fetishized shots of models covered in latex (on the rare occasion they are covered) gives this calendar a seriously NSFW rating, so be warned. “I didn’t want to make a conceptual calendar, or link it to some particular location, but rather to create 12 posters in which women, in all their sensuality, are the absolute protagonists of 12 very different images,” explained Meisel. “Since I wanted to limit the use of clothes and accessories and since I had absolute creative freedom, I found it very exciting to play with the colors, the makeup, and the materials. It was a very rewarding experience.”
