Rumors have been swirling that Kardashian clan model Kendall Jenner has been getting bullied backstage during fashion week, and although we don’t agree with it, it isn’t hard to see why. Jenner’s meteoric rise through the ranks to fronting big name shows and even bigger campaigns isn’t sitting well with the other models. Some of these girls have put in grueling hours at low-paying gigs before they could build up a resume that’s good enough to even audition for fashion week. Jenner on the other hand, has her name and an awful lot of family friends to help her pull some strings; within months of starting her modeling career she was walking for Marc Jacobs and Chanel, and landing Givenchy campaigns. For a brand new model fronting a big name brand is absolutely impossible—unless of course you’re Kendall.
Models have supposedly been throwing cigarettes in her drink, being “bitchy” and playing cruel pranks on her for “stealing” their jobs. “The other models worked so hard to get a spot on the runway and didn’t think it was fair that she was there,” a source told In Touch. “They thought she was getting special treatment and just weren’t okay with it. Models can be cruel, especially with someone new and entitled.” And if entitled doesn’t sum up the Kardashian-Jenner family I don’t know any other word that would, so it’s not impossible to believe that Jenner isn’t acting as graciously as she could backstage. Fashionista has reported seeing Jenner receiving special treatment behind the scenes, and she apparently refuses to get ready with other models. Whether this is all hearsay or not has yet to be determined, but—at the risk of sounding too hippy-dippy—can’t we all just get along?
